Ali edges Tyson by a tenth of a point atop combat sports

A boxer who died a decade ago leads the living, Khabib and McGregor follow, and the UFC's champions crowd the top ten.
Muhammad Ali is the most famous figure in combat sports for August 2026, ten years after his death, with a score of 21.5. Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion, is a tenth of a point behind at 21.4, and Khabib Nurmagomedov, the Russian sambo champion who retired unbeaten from mixed martial arts, is third at 21. The three are separated by half a point.
Conor McGregor, the Irish fighter who has headlined the five highest-selling UFC events, is fourth at 20.4. Ilia Topuria, the Georgian and Spanish fighter who holds the UFC lightweight title, is fifth at 19.9, and Islam Makhachev, another Russian sambo product, sixth at 19.2. That puts three current or recent UFC lightweights inside the top six, which no boxing division can match this month.
The boxers fill in behind. Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino champion and former politician, is seventh at 17.2; Canelo Álvarez, the Mexican who defines his generation of the sport, eighth at 15.2; Anthony Joshua, the British heavyweight, eleventh; Floyd Mayweather, boxer and promoter, twelfth at 14.5. Chuck Norris, the martial artist and action star, is ninth at 14.9, the second dead name in the fifteen. Brock Lesnar, Khamzat Chimaev and Dana White, the UFC's president, close the table.
Ninety-four names were measured across 25 countries, 90 of them living. The United States supplies 45, Brazil six, Russia and the United Kingdom five each. The engine measures worldwide fame rather than quality, and in a sport that ends careers early, attention outlives the fighters.
