Mahira Khan leads Pakistani drama above a poet, a stateswoman and a surgeon

iFAMOUS Editorial Desk · 1 min read

Only 46 of the sector's 64 names are living, and the standard reading places Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Fatima Jinnah in the top three.

Mahira Khan is the most famous name in the Pakistani dramas sector for August 2026, with a score of 6.1. The actress and former VJ leads a table that, in its standard reading, is as much about Pakistan's public memory as its television. Faiz Ahmad Faiz, the Urdu and Punjabi poet of the twentieth century, is second at 5.4. Fatima Jinnah, the dental surgeon, biographer and stateswoman who died in 1967, is third at 4.8.

The sector gathers adjacent figures where attention groups them, and here it gathers many. Hasnat Khan, the British-Pakistani heart surgeon known for his relationship with Diana, Princess of Wales, is fourth at 4.6. Fazal-ur-Rehman, the Islamic scholar and politician, is fifth. Qandeel Baloch, the model and social media star who died in 2016, is sixth at 3.9, and Muhammad Ali Bogra, prime minister from 1953 to 1955, seventh. Four of the top seven are dead, and only one of the seven is an actor.

The drama industry proper begins at eighth. Fawad Afzal Khan, actor and singer, scores 3.8. Sajal Aly, the British-born actress regarded as one of the most versatile in the country, is ninth at 3.5. Veena Malik, who worked in both Pakistani and Bollywood cinema, is tenth. Mawra Hocane and Durefishan Saleem, the Lahore-born actress of Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi, share 3.3 in eleventh and twelfth. Danish Taimoor, the Karachi-born actor and host, is fourteenth, and Somy Ali, the Pakistani-American actress and former Bollywood lead, fifteenth.

Sixty-four names were measured across four countries, 46 of them living; Pakistan supplies 58. The ranking measures worldwide fame, not quality, and this sector's worldwide attention is unusually weighted toward its dead.

    About this list

This list ranks the most famous pakistani drama stars in the world as of August 2026, by overall global fame rather than one month's attention. It is the top 64 of 64 names the rankings measured in this sector, frozen as the permanent record of that edition. This is the standard reading: everyone, living or dead, on one scale. 46 of the 64 listed are living; the Alive reading restricts the same ranking to living people.

Mahira Khan is No. 1 on this list for August 2026. Behind Mahira Khan come Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Fatima Jinnah.

    What famous means here

Fame, in iFAMOUS, is how widely the world knows a name: how recognisable a person's name, face or work is, and how well people know who they are. It is assessed from extensive historical and current public data, some of it reaching back more than twenty years, and it is not merit, talent, importance or popularity on iFANN. The rankings model real-world global fame, not internet fame; the data is the instrument, not the subject. Activity on iFANN itself is excluded.

The month in the title is the date of this edition, not the period measured. The list is a snapshot of overall fame as it stood when the issue was frozen: a name does not lose its place because one month was quiet, and a trending moment alone does not put a name here. Trending attention is published separately on ifann.net.

    How the list was ranked

The iFANN Global Fame Rankings combine worldwide Wikipedia readership across languages, worldwide news coverage and search interest anchored against stable reference names, with search history reaching back to 2004. A twelve-month baseline sits behind the current reading and short-lived surges are capped, so the list reflects durable recognition rather than one week of headlines. Rankings are computed daily on ifann.net and frozen on the second day of the following month as that month's issue; a published issue never changes.

    About Pakistani Dramas

Pakistani Dramas is one of the sectors the journal ranks every month, alongside every country, origin and region list in this issue. Sector lists use the same rankings and the same scale as The 100, so a name can be compared across sectors and against the world. Pakistani dramas: Urdu serials, unforgettable OSTs and television that crosses borders.
