Enrique Iglesias leads Latin music, with Cardi B and Ricky Martin close behind
iFAMOUS Editorial Desk · 1 min read
A Spanish balladeer holds the top of a table where Mexico supplies the most names but the fame runs through Spain, Colombia and the United States.
Enrique Iglesias is the most famous figure in Latin music for August 2026, with a score of 20.3. Cardi B, the American rapper born Belcalis Almánzar, is second at 19.6, and Ricky Martin, the Puerto Rican singer, third at 17.5. Pitbull, the Miami rapper and businessman, follows at 17.4, then Camila Cabello, the Cuban singer and actress, at 16.8. Four of the top five built their careers partly or wholly in English, which is the first thing the table says about where the world's attention to Latin music sits.
The reggaeton generation is bunched just below. Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican rapper and record producer, is sixth at 16.6; Maluma, the Colombian singer and actor, seventh at 16.1; J Balvin, born in Medellín in 1985, ninth at 16. Karol G, also Colombian, closes the fifteen at 11.4. Thalía, the Mexican singer and telenovela star of three decades, is eighth at 16, the only Mexican name in the top fifteen even though Mexico supplies 30 of the 91 measured, more than any other country.
Julio Iglesias, tenth at 15.5, means father and son both sit in the top ten, separated by seven places and one generation of ballads. Rosalía, the Spanish singer, is eleventh, and Becky G, the American singer who rose in the 2010s, twelfth. The sector gathers adjacent figures where attention groups them, which is why Amr Diab, the Egyptian pop singer, and Cha Eun-woo, the South Korean singer and actor, sit thirteenth and fourteenth.
Ninety-one names were measured across eighteen countries, 78 of them living; Colombia and Brazil supply twelve each, Spain eight, the United States six. None of the thirteen dead reaches the top fifteen.
About this list
This list ranks the most famous latin music artists in the world as of August 2026, by overall global fame rather than one month's attention. It is the top 91 of 91 names the rankings measured in this sector, frozen as the permanent record of that edition. This is the standard reading: everyone, living or dead, on one scale. 78 of the 91 listed are living; the Alive reading restricts the same ranking to living people.
Enrique Iglesias is No. 1 on this list for August 2026. Behind Enrique Iglesias come Cardi B and Ricky Martin.
What famous means here
Fame, in iFAMOUS, is how widely the world knows a name: how recognisable a person's name, face or work is, and how well people know who they are. It is assessed from extensive historical and current public data, some of it reaching back more than twenty years, and it is not merit, talent, importance or popularity on iFANN. The rankings model real-world global fame, not internet fame; the data is the instrument, not the subject. Activity on iFANN itself is excluded.
The month in the title is the date of this edition, not the period measured. The list is a snapshot of overall fame as it stood when the issue was frozen: a name does not lose its place because one month was quiet, and a trending moment alone does not put a name here. Trending attention is published separately on ifann.net.
How the list was ranked
The iFANN Global Fame Rankings combine worldwide Wikipedia readership across languages, worldwide news coverage and search interest anchored against stable reference names, with search history reaching back to 2004. A twelve-month baseline sits behind the current reading and short-lived surges are capped, so the list reflects durable recognition rather than one week of headlines. Rankings are computed daily on ifann.net and frozen on the second day of the following month as that month's issue; a published issue never changes.
About Latin Music
Latin Music is one of the sectors the journal ranks every month, alongside every country, origin and region list in this issue. Sector lists use the same rankings and the same scale as The 100, so a name can be compared across sectors and against the world. Latin pop, reggaeton, regional Mexican and beyond.
