The living streamers: Speed, Hasan and Kai Cenat, then the politics
iFAMOUS Editorial Desk · 1 min read
Fethullah Gülen is the one name lost from the Alive reading of the August 2026 live-streaming list, and Mansoor, the Saudi-American wrestler, enters at fifteenth.
Live streaming is a sector of the living almost by definition, and the Alive reading for August 2026 confirms it. Forty-seven of the forty-eight names measured are alive; the exception is Fethullah Gülen, the Turkish cleric who held seventh place on the full list and whose removal brings Mansoor, the Saudi-American wrestler and livestreamer, into the top fifteen at 3.9.
The top six are unchanged. IShowSpeed leads at 21.4, Hasan Piker is second at 11.1, Eduardo Saverin third at 11, Kai Cenat fourth at 10.3, Markus Persson fifth at 9.2 and Faker sixth at 9. Of those six, three are streamers in the plain sense, one is an esports champion, one built a game and one co-founded a social network; the sector gathers adjacent figures, and its living leaders are half of them.
Below that the living list turns political. Gypsy Crusader, seventh at 6.8, and Asmongold, eighth at 6.2, both moved from gaming into commentary. Cenk Uygur, eleventh, and Gavin McInnes, twelfth, are commentators first. Anatoly Shariy, fourteenth, runs a Ukrainian political channel with an audience in the millions. Mata Amritanandamayi, the Indian spiritual leader at tenth, and Quinton Rampage Jackson, the former fighter at ninth, come from further afield still.
Adin Ross, thirteenth at 4.5, and Cenat are the names most representative of what the sector's label describes: young American creators whose fame was made live, on camera, in front of chat. The ranking measures worldwide fame, and among the living that attention runs to one creator at more than twenty and a long tail of streamers, commentators and borrowed celebrities beneath him.
About this list
This list ranks the most famous streamers in the world as of August 2026, by overall global fame rather than one month's attention. It is the top 47 of 47 names the rankings measured in this sector, frozen as the permanent record of that edition. This is the Alive reading: living people only. The standard reading ranks everyone, living or dead, on one scale, and is one click away.
IShowSpeed is No. 1 on this list for August 2026. Behind IShowSpeed come Hasan Piker and Eduardo Saverin.
What famous means here
Fame, in iFAMOUS, is how widely the world knows a name: how recognisable a person's name, face or work is, and how well people know who they are. It is assessed from extensive historical and current public data, some of it reaching back more than twenty years, and it is not merit, talent, importance or popularity on iFANN. The rankings model real-world global fame, not internet fame; the data is the instrument, not the subject. Activity on iFANN itself is excluded.
The month in the title is the date of this edition, not the period measured. The list is a snapshot of overall fame as it stood when the issue was frozen: a name does not lose its place because one month was quiet, and a trending moment alone does not put a name here. Trending attention is published separately on ifann.net.
How the list was ranked
The iFANN Global Fame Rankings combine worldwide Wikipedia readership across languages, worldwide news coverage and search interest anchored against stable reference names, with search history reaching back to 2004. A twelve-month baseline sits behind the current reading and short-lived surges are capped, so the list reflects durable recognition rather than one week of headlines. Rankings are computed daily on ifann.net and frozen on the second day of the following month as that month's issue; a published issue never changes.
About Streaming / Twitch
Streaming / Twitch is one of the sectors the journal ranks every month, alongside every country, origin and region list in this issue. Sector lists use the same rankings and the same scale as The 100, so a name can be compared across sectors and against the world. Twitch streamers, Kick personalities and the live-streaming creator economy.
