Kylie Minogue heads Oceania, with Jackman, Ledger and Irwin in a tight pack

Australia supplies 61 of the hundred names on the August 2026 regional table and fourteen of its top fifteen, the exception being Michael Jackson.
Kylie Minogue is the most famous person in Oceania for August 2026. The singer who has sold more than 80 million records scores 35.8, a point and a half ahead of Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine for 24 years, at 34.3. Heath Ledger, who left Australian television for the United States in 1998 and died in 2008, is third at 33.4, and Steve Irwin, the wildlife presenter from Upper Ferntree Gully, fourth at 31.8. Two of the top four are dead.
This is the flattest regional table in the issue. Just over seven points separate Minogue from Rupert Murdoch at fifteenth, and the scores step down by fractions rather than leaps. It is also the most Australian: fourteen of the fifteen were born in Australia, the exception being Michael Jackson at eleventh. New Zealand places only three names in the hundred, and none in the top group.
Screen and stage take the upper half. Chris Hemsworth is fifth, Margot Robbie, the highest-paid actress of 2023, sixth, Sia, the Adelaide singer, eighth, Cate Blanchett tenth and Miranda Kerr, the first Australian Victoria's Secret Angel, twelfth. Politics takes the rest: Julia Gillard, the only woman to have been prime minister, seventh; Kevin Rudd, the 26th prime minister, ninth; Anthony Albanese, the 31st and current one, thirteenth; Scott Morrison, the 30th, fourteenth. Murdoch, the Australian-born media owner, is fifteenth at 28.5.
Of the hundred names, 86 are living, the highest share of any regional list here, and Australia supplies 61 with the United States a distant 25. Evidence coverage is rated high. The region's attention divides almost evenly between its actors and its prime ministers, and it keeps faith with two men, Ledger and Irwin, who died young.
