Trump leads North America by thirteen points, with Michael Jackson the lone dead name

The sitting president heads the August 2026 regional table, and beneath him the list is almost entirely pop singers from the United States, plus one Canadian.
Donald Trump is the most famous person in North America for August 2026, at 66. Michael Jackson, dead since 2009, is second at 52.5. Justin Bieber, the only Canadian in the fifteen, is third at 52.2, and Barack Obama, the 44th president, fourth at 51.2. Thirteen points separate first from second; little more than one point separates second from fourth.
Below that, the table is a pop chart. Ariana Grande is fifth, Taylor Swift sixth, Eminem seventh, Lady Gaga eighth, Beyoncé ninth. Elon Musk, the South African-born entrepreneur, breaks the run at tenth, the only business figure in the group. Then Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, the singer once called the Princess of Pop, and Katy Perry close the fifteen, Perry at 42.8. Eleven of the fifteen are singers or performers; two are presidents; one is an entrepreneur; one is a socialite and designer.
Jackson is the only dead name in the top fifteen, which is unusual. Europe, East Asia and the Middle East each carry six. North America's attention goes to the living, and mostly to the living who record albums.
The scope has just two countries. Of the hundred names, 89 are American and eleven Canadian, and 80 are living. Evidence coverage is rated high, which fits a region whose public figures are covered more densely than anyone else's.
