The Brazil origin list for August 2026 is a football list with two presidents, a supermodel and a dead racing driver breaking the run.
Neymar is the most famous person from Brazil in the world for August 2026, with a fame score of 29.5, seven points clear of Vinícius Júnior at 22.5. Ronaldinho is third at 20.2, and only then does Pelé appear, fourth at 19.8. That order is worth noticing: three living forwards rank above the dead man widely regarded as the greatest of all, because the ranking measures current worldwide attention rather than standing.
Football supplies eleven of the top fifteen. Ronaldo, the striker of the 1990s and 2000s, is seventh at 18.6, Kaká ninth, Casemiro tenth and the goalkeeper Alisson Becker eleventh. Roberto Carlos, the free-kick specialist who redefined left-back, is thirteenth, and two current forwards close the table: Matheus Cunha of Manchester United and Raphinha of Barcelona.
The interruptions are instructive. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, president from 2003 to 2010 and again since 2023, is fifth at 18.9, and his predecessor Jair Bolsonaro, who held the office from 2019 to 2023, is eighth at 17.7. Brazil's politics holds attention abroad in a way few other football nations' politics does. Gisele Bündchen, the supermodel who has been among the highest paid in the world since 2001, is sixth at 18.7. Ayrton Senna, the Formula One driver killed in 1994, is twelfth at 15.3, tied with Alisson.
The scope measured 262 names, and 85 of the 100 published are living. Senna and Pelé are the only dead names in the top fifteen, and both hold their places on durable recognition. Everything else in the table is happening now.
About this list
This list ranks people from Brazil by their overall worldwide fame rather than local attention, as assessed for August 2026: the top 100 of 262 names, frozen as the permanent record of that edition. This is the standard reading: everyone, living or dead, on one scale. 85 of the 100 listed are living; the Alive reading restricts the same ranking to living people.
Neymar is No. 1 on this list for August 2026. Behind Neymar come Vinícius Júnior and Ronaldinho.
What famous means here
Fame, in iFAMOUS, is how widely the world knows a name: how recognisable a person's name, face or work is, and how well people know who they are. It is assessed from extensive historical and current public data, some of it reaching back more than twenty years, and it is not merit, talent, importance or popularity on iFANN. The rankings model real-world global fame, not internet fame; the data is the instrument, not the subject. Activity on iFANN itself is excluded.
The month in the title is the date of this edition, not the period measured. The list is a snapshot of overall fame as it stood when the issue was frozen: a name does not lose its place because one month was quiet, and a trending moment alone does not put a name here. Trending attention is published separately on ifann.net.
How the list was ranked
The iFANN Global Fame Rankings combine worldwide Wikipedia readership across languages, worldwide news coverage and search interest anchored against stable reference names, with search history reaching back to 2004. A twelve-month baseline sits behind the current reading and short-lived surges are capped, so the list reflects durable recognition rather than one week of headlines. Rankings are computed daily on ifann.net and frozen on the second day of the following month as that month's issue; a published issue never changes.
About Brazil
Brazil is one of the countries and regions the journal ranks every month. Country lists use the same rankings and the same scale as The 100, so a name can be compared with its neighbours and against the world.
