The Alive reading of the Brazil origin list for August 2026 is led by Neymar and reads as a national team across three generations.
Two dead names leave the top fifteen when Brazil's origin list is read for the living, and both are the kind of name a country builds monuments to. Pelé, fourth in the standard reading, and Ayrton Senna, twelfth, are absent from the Alive table for August 2026. In their place come Rivaldo, the World Cup winner of 2002, at fourteenth with 14.5, and Gabriel Martinelli, the Arsenal forward, at fifteenth with 14.
Neymar leads the living at 29.5, seven points ahead of Vinícius Júnior at 22.5, with Ronaldinho third at 20.2. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, president twice, moves up to fourth at 18.9, followed by Gisele Bündchen at 18.7 and Ronaldo at 18.6. Jair Bolsonaro is seventh, Kaká eighth.
The living pool is 207 names out of 262 measured, so Brazil loses 55 people to death across the whole scope, roughly a fifth of it. Most of them are not footballers. The football side of the list is unusually alive because the players the world remembers, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaká, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Casemiro, are of the past three decades, and the sport's earlier heroes are known by fewer names.

Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos represent the 2002 side, Kaká and Ronaldinho the years after, Neymar and Casemiro the 2010s, and Vinícius, Raphinha, Matheus Cunha and Martinelli the current squad. Two presidents and one supermodel are the only living Brazilians who break that line in the top fifteen.
