Jackman, Sia and Robbie lead an Australian list built on Hollywood and pop

The Australia origin table for August 2026 is almost entirely actors and singers who work abroad, with Heath Ledger and Steve Irwin the only dead names in its top fifteen.
Hugh Jackman is the most famous person from Australia in the world for August 2026, scoring 22.1 on the strength of a Wolverine role he played for 24 years. Sia, the Adelaide-born singer who built a career while hiding her face, is second at 20.8, and Margot Robbie, named the world's highest-paid actress in 2023, is third at 19.7. Kylie Minogue and Chris Hemsworth are tied at 18.8. Five names, five performers, all of whom did their most-watched work outside Australia.
The pattern holds for most of the 100 published names. Australia exports faces and voices. Jacob Elordi is sixth, Cate Blanchett seventh, and the run continues through Milly Alcock, who broke out as the young Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon, Eric Bana, Rose Byrne and Samara Weaving. Keith Urban, the country singer described as Australian-American, is fourteenth. The only politician in the top fifteen is the prime minister Anthony Albanese, in office since May 2022, at 13.3.
Two dead names hold high places. Heath Ledger, who moved to the United States in 1998, is eighth at 17.7, and Steve Irwin, the wildlife educator born in 1962, is ninth at 15.6. Both died young, and both are still watched more closely than most of the living actors ranked beneath them.
