J. Abdul Kalam and the actress Sridevi drop out, and what is left for August 2026 is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the top on 64.2 with a twelve-point lead, and a queue of working actors behind her.
C. Joseph Vijay moves up to second on 51.9, his fame now doubled by the Tamil political career he began in 2026. Priyanka Chopra is third, Kareena Kapoor fourth, Akshay Kumar fifth, Deepika Padukone sixth, Aamir Khan eighth. The tail of the group adds Tamannaah Bhatia, who works across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film, at eleventh, Hrithik Roshan at thirteenth, Nayanthara at fourteenth and Madhuri Dixit at fifteenth. Eleven of fifteen living places are actors, and the southern industries now claim about a third of them, which is the real change in Indian fame over the past decade.
Outside film, three names survive. MS Dhoni, one of the most successful captains in cricket's history, is seventh on 44.7, the only sportsman among the living top fifteen. Shreya Ghoshal is ninth and Arijit Singh, whose voice has become the sound of the Bollywood ballad, is twelfth, level on 41.7 with Hrithik Roshan.
