Ukraine's living list has no absences, and its fame is split three ways
iFAMOUS Editorial Desk · 1 min read
All 54 people measured for Ukraine in August 2026 are alive, so the Alive reading is the standard one, divided between politics, boxing and the screen.
Ukraine's Alive reading for August 2026 contains no gaps to explain. Every one of the 54 people the rankings trace to the country is living, so Volodymyr Zelenskyy leads at 21.4 exactly as he does on the standard list, and the fifteen names below him are unchanged.
Read as a list of living careers, the table divides into three groups of roughly equal weight. The first is government: Zelenskyy, then Petro Poroshenko at 12.3, Viktor Yanukovych at 11.1, Yulia Tymoshenko at 10.9 and Viktor Yushchenko at 9.8, which puts every president since 2005 and one prime minister inside the top twelve. Vitali Klitschko, the boxer who became mayor of Kyiv, belongs to this group as much as to sport.
The second is the ring and the court. Oleksandr Usyk, fourth at 12.9, is the active heavyweight champion. Wladimir Klitschko, fourteenth, held the heavyweight titles for most of the decade before him. Elina Svitolina, seventh, and Marta Kostyuk, eleventh, carry the country's tennis, and Andriy Shevchenko, sixth, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, fifteenth, its football, one as a retired striker now running the game and the other still playing.
The third group left. Milla Jovovich and Mila Kunis, tied at 14.9, are the second and third most famous people born in Ukraine and both are American actresses. Olga Kurylenko, thirteenth, works in French and British cinema. Between them the three hold more attention than any Ukrainian athlete. With nobody dead and nobody promoted, that three-way split is the living list's whole story.
About this list
This list ranks people from Ukraine by their overall worldwide fame rather than local attention, as assessed for August 2026: the top 54 of 54 names, frozen as the permanent record of that edition. This is the Alive reading: living people only. The standard reading ranks everyone, living or dead, on one scale, and is one click away.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is No. 1 on this list for August 2026. Behind Volodymyr Zelenskyy come Milla Jovovich and Mila Kunis.
What famous means here
Fame, in iFAMOUS, is how widely the world knows a name: how recognisable a person's name, face or work is, and how well people know who they are. It is assessed from extensive historical and current public data, some of it reaching back more than twenty years, and it is not merit, talent, importance or popularity on iFANN. The rankings model real-world global fame, not internet fame; the data is the instrument, not the subject. Activity on iFANN itself is excluded.
The month in the title is the date of this edition, not the period measured. The list is a snapshot of overall fame as it stood when the issue was frozen: a name does not lose its place because one month was quiet, and a trending moment alone does not put a name here. Trending attention is published separately on ifann.net.
How the list was ranked
The iFANN Global Fame Rankings combine worldwide Wikipedia readership across languages, worldwide news coverage and search interest anchored against stable reference names, with search history reaching back to 2004. A twelve-month baseline sits behind the current reading and short-lived surges are capped, so the list reflects durable recognition rather than one week of headlines. Rankings are computed daily on ifann.net and frozen on the second day of the following month as that month's issue; a published issue never changes.
About Ukraine
Ukraine is one of the countries and regions the journal ranks every month. Country lists use the same rankings and the same scale as The 100, so a name can be compared with its neighbours and against the world.
