Zlatan and Zara Larsson lead a Swedish list built on export

Sweden's August 2026 origin ranking is a roll-call of footballers, actors and pop writers who found their audiences abroad, with 89 of its 90 names living.
Zlatan Ibrahimović retired from football years ago and still holds more of the world's attention than any other person born in Sweden. His August 2026 score of 22.1 leads the list, with Zara Larsson, the singer and songwriter, close behind at 20.5. The two share a trait with almost everyone below them: their careers were made outside the country, in Italian and French football, in the American charts.

The remaining names span three generations of Swedish fame. Agnetha Fältskog and Benny Andersson of ABBA hold ninth and fifteenth, a mark of durable recognition. PewDiePie, the YouTuber, is sixth, and Greta Thunberg, whose school strike began in 2018, is seventh at 14.
