Zara Larsson outranks three prime ministers and Ingmar Bergman on Sweden's list
iFAMOUS Editorial Desk · 1 min read
A pop singer leads the August 2026 Sweden table by nine points, and the country's politics occupies most of the rest.
Zara Larsson, the singer, songwriter and actor, is the most famous person connected to Sweden in August 2026. Her score of 34.9 is more than nine points clear of Ingmar Bergman, the director whose place in cinema history keeps him second at 25.6 nearly two decades after his death. Nobody else on the list breaks 22.
The middle of the table is a run of Swedish heads of government. Ulf Kristersson, prime minister since October 2022 and Moderate Party leader since 2017, is third at 21.8. Magdalena Andersson, who led the country from 2021 to 2022, is fourth at 21.3, half a point behind him. Fredrik Reinfeldt, prime minister from 2006 to 2014, is sixth, and Jimmie Åkesson, leader of the Sweden Democrats since 2005, seventh. Amanda Lind, the psychologist and Esperantist turned politician, is eighth. Five of nine names are politicians.
Stellan Skarsgård, the actor whose range runs from art-house to global blockbusters, is fifth at 20.4, and Aliette Opheim, the actress and producer born in Täby, closes the table at ninth with a score of 5.7. Between Larsson, Bergman, Skarsgård and Opheim, screen and stage account for the rest.
Nine names were measured, all Swedish and eight of them living, which makes this one of the smaller country lists in the issue and one where a single new measurement could reorder everything below second place. Bergman is the one deceased name, and the standard reading keeps him above every living politician in the country. Coverage is rated medium.

About this list
This list ranks the most famous people connected to Sweden as of August 2026, by overall fame rather than one month's attention: the top 9 of 9 names the rankings measured for Sweden, frozen as the permanent record of that edition. This is the standard reading: everyone, living or dead, on one scale. 8 of the 9 listed are living; the Alive reading restricts the same ranking to living people.
Zara Larsson is No. 1 on this list for August 2026. Behind Zara Larsson come Ingmar Bergman and Ulf Kristersson. Evidence coverage for this list is medium; positions near the bottom of the table may shift as coverage improves.
What famous means here
Fame, in iFAMOUS, is how widely the world knows a name: how recognisable a person's name, face or work is, and how well people know who they are. It is assessed from extensive historical and current public data, some of it reaching back more than twenty years, and it is not merit, talent, importance or popularity on iFANN. The rankings model real-world global fame, not internet fame; the data is the instrument, not the subject. Activity on iFANN itself is excluded.
The month in the title is the date of this edition, not the period measured. The list is a snapshot of overall fame as it stood when the issue was frozen: a name does not lose its place because one month was quiet, and a trending moment alone does not put a name here. Trending attention is published separately on ifann.net.
How the list was ranked
The iFANN Global Fame Rankings combine worldwide Wikipedia readership across languages, worldwide news coverage and search interest anchored against stable reference names, with search history reaching back to 2004. A twelve-month baseline sits behind the current reading and short-lived surges are capped, so the list reflects durable recognition rather than one week of headlines. Rankings are computed daily on ifann.net and frozen on the second day of the following month as that month's issue; a published issue never changes.
About Sweden
Sweden is one of the countries and regions the journal ranks every month. Country lists use the same rankings and the same scale as The 100, so a name can be compared with its neighbours and against the world.
