The Alive reading of the Lebanon origin list is not a shorter version of the standard one; it is the same twenty-nine names, because none of them has died. What it shows instead is the range of fields those living people occupy. Keanu Reeves, the Beirut-born actor, leads at 21.0. Mia Khalifa, Amal Clooney and Mika follow, and none of the four lives in Lebanon.
The living politicians cluster in the middle. Joseph Aoun, president since January 2025, is fifth at 11.5. Nawaf Salam, the jurist who became Prime Minister a month later, is eleventh at 8.9. Naim Qassem of Hezbollah is thirteenth and Michel Aoun, the previous president, is fifteenth. Luis Abinader, the Dominican president, is a reminder that the Lebanese diaspora produces heads of state in other hemispheres.
Fairuz is the senior figure on the table and, at seventh with 11.0, the highest-placed person whose whole career was built inside Lebanon. Nancy Ajram and Haifa Wehbe, the two singers behind her, are the same. Serj Tankian and John Dolmayan bring System of a Down into the count, and Nassim Nicholas Taleb, tenth, is the only writer.
With every name living, the question the Alive reading usually answers, who is absent, has no one to point to. For August 2026 the more useful question is geographic: of the fifteen most famous living people from Lebanon, fewer than half built their attention at home and the rest in Los Angeles, London, Santo Domingo or New York.
