Widodo, Prabowo and four more presidents: Indonesia's list is a roll of office

Seven current or former presidents appear in the top fifteen of Indonesia's origin list for August 2026, with Sukarno the highest of the dead.
Joko Widodo, president of Indonesia from 2014 to 2024, is the most famous person from the country in August 2026 at 14.3. Prabowo Subianto, the retired general who succeeded him in 2024, is second at 13.7. Sukarno, the founding president who served from 1945 until his removal in 1967, is third at 10.1, the highest of the dead. The three names at the top are three presidents, and they are not the last.
The engine measures 234 people from Indonesia and shows the top hundred, of whom 80 are living. Megawati Soekarnoputri, Sukarno's daughter and president from 2001 to 2004, is fourth. Suharto, who ruled from 1967 to 1998, is sixth. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is eighth, Abdurrahman Wahid eleventh, B. J. Habibie thirteenth. Gibran Rakabuming Raka, vice president since October 2024, is ninth. Nine of the top fifteen held the presidency or vice presidency. No other origin list in this issue is so thoroughly a record of government.
The rest is entertainment with an international reach. Anggun, the Indonesian-born French singer, is fifth at 9.3. Agnez Mo, the singer and actress from Jakarta, is seventh. Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim, the martial-arts actors whose films travelled far beyond Indonesia, are tenth and fourteenth. Niki, the singer-songwriter based in the United States, and Rich Brian, the rapper, close the group at twelfth and fifteenth.
The ranking measures worldwide fame, not merit. Indonesia's attention divides cleanly between the palace and the diaspora.
