With no dead names among the 45 measured, the Alive reading repeats the standard order and shows how much Finnish fame rides on motor racing.
Nothing changes when Finland's origin list is read living-only, because there is nothing to take out. All 45 people measured for August 2026 are alive, so Linus Torvalds stays first at 13.5, Valtteri Bottas second at 12.1 and Kimi Räikkönen third at 11.9. Alexander Stubb, the president since March 2024, is fourth, the only office holder in the top fifteen.
What the reading makes visible is the shape of a country's fame when history is not doing the work. Other European tables carry dead composers, kings and generals near the top; Finland's carries none, and that is a matter of coverage rather than a verdict. The names the world attends to are people still working or recently retired.
