Torvalds beats the racing drivers to lead a Finnish list with no dead

The creator of Linux holds the most worldwide attention of any Finn, ahead of Bottas, Räikkönen and a president, on a list where all 45 names are living.
Finland's origin list for August 2026 is led not by a driver, a hockey player or a politician but by a software engineer. Linus Torvalds, who created the Linux kernel in 1991 and still leads its development from the United States, scores 13.5. Behind him come two Formula One names, Valtteri Bottas at 12.1 and Kimi Räikkönen at 11.9, and then Alexander Stubb, president of Finland since March 2024, at 11.7.
