Čech and Navratilova lead a Czech list of goalkeepers, tennis players and presidents

The Czech Republic origin table for August 2026 has no dead names in its published 100, and sport holds twelve of the top fifteen.
Petr Čech, the goalkeeper who won four Premier League titles with Chelsea and now plays ice hockey in goal, is the most famous person from the Czech Republic in the world for August 2026, scoring 11.9. Martina Navratilova, the Czech-American who won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, is second at 10.1. Petr Pavel, the retired army general who has been president since March 2023, is third at 9.9, and Pavel Nedvěd, the midfielder who won the Ballon d'Or in 2003, is fourth at 9.5.
Sport takes twelve of the top fifteen. Tennis holds six: Navratilova, Karolína Muchová at fifth, Jakub Menšík at ninth, Linda Nosková at eleventh, Karolína Plíšková at thirteenth and Kateřina Siniaková, the world number one in doubles, at fourteenth. Football holds six more: Čech, Nedvěd, Jan Koller at seventh, Patrik Schick of Bayer Leverkusen at eighth, Tomáš Rosický at twelfth and Milan Baroš, of Liverpool's 2005 Champions League side, at fifteenth.
Politics holds the other three. Pavel is third, Andrej Babiš, prime minister from 2017 to 2021 and again since December 2025, is sixth at 8.6, and Miloš Zeman, president from 2013 to 2023, is tenth at 8.
The scope measured 137 names, and all 100 published are living, a striking result for a country whose composers, writers and dissidents are known across the world. The dead Czechs the reader might expect do not clear the measurement threshold this month, and what remains is a country whose fame abroad is athletic and recent.
