Sri Lanka's August 2026 list is led by its president and then by Ronaldo, Mia Khalifa and the Tamil star Vijay, one of the most outward-looking tables in the issue.
Anura Kumara Dissanayake, president of Sri Lanka since September 2024, leads the country's list for August 2026 on a score of 36.5, and he is the only Sri Lankan in the top fifteen. Everyone else is a visitor. Cristiano Ronaldo is second on 31.7, Mia Khalifa, the Lebanese-American media personality, third on 31.3, and C. Joseph Vijay, the Tamil cinema star who now leads his state's politics, fourth. Shakira is fifth.
Few national tables draw their top hundred from as many places. Twenty-two countries are represented, and Sri Lanka itself supplies only 29 of the hundred, against 22 from the United States and 12 from India. The Indian presence has an obvious source in the Tamil-speaking north and east; Nayanthara, ninth, joins Vijay as the second Tamil film name in the group. Bangladesh supplies five and the United Kingdom four.
The dead names are the world's, not the island's. Jesus Christ is sixth on 25.8, Muhammad eighth, Michael Jackson tenth, and Cleopatra, the last ruler of Ptolemaic Egypt, thirteenth. Four dead figures from two faiths, one pop career and one ancient dynasty, and not one of them a Sri Lankan king, poet or statesman, which says the historical Sri Lankan roster has not yet been measured to the depth the living one has.
American politics and pop fill the rest: Donald Trump eleventh, Justin Bieber twelfth, Taylor Swift fourteenth, Barack Obama fifteenth. The scope measured 102 people, 89 of the top hundred living, with evidence coverage graded high. What the table records is attention flowing out from a small island in every direction, to Madrid, Chennai, Hollywood and Washington, with one man in Colombo holding the top against it.
