The cyclist, one of the great climbers of his era, scores 49.6 in the Alive reading of Denmark's list for August 2026, five and a half points ahead of Mads Mikkelsen at 44.1. A fifth Dane joins the top fifteen once the dead are gone: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played Jaime Lannister across eight seasons of Game of Thrones, at twelfth with 30.7. Two actors, two footballers and a cyclist. No Danish politician, no Danish musician and no member of the royal family sits in this band; the country's living fame abroad, as the list measures it, is sport and screen.
