Bieber ties Trump and Swift at the top, Trudeau leads Canada's politicians

Canada's August 2026 list has a three-way dead heat at 68.4, two prime ministers in the top twelve and only two dead names in the top fifteen.
Justin Bieber is the most famous person connected to Canada, by the narrowest possible margin. He scores 68.4, and so do Donald Trump and Taylor Swift; the table lists the Canadian first, but the three names are level. Justin Trudeau, prime minister from 2015 to 2025 and Liberal leader for more than a decade, is fourth at 64.7, the highest-placed politician of the country's own.
Canadian music holds the middle of the table. Drake, the Toronto rapper credited with bringing R&B sensibilities into hip-hop, is seventh at 56.8. Céline Dion is thirteenth. Between them the imports arrive: Shakira sixth, Ariana Grande eighth, Elon Musk ninth, Lionel Messi eleventh, Eminem fourteenth, Rihanna fifteenth. Mark Carney, the former central banker who became Canada's twenty-fourth prime minister in 2025, is twelfth at 51.7, eight places and thirteen points below the man he succeeded.
Two dead names sit in the top fifteen. Michael Jackson is fifth at 61.1. Elizabeth II, Canada's head of state for seventy years until her death in 2022, is tenth at 53.0. Both are figures of durable recognition rather than recent news, and neither is Canadian, which is itself typical of how attention flows across the country's southern border.
The engine measured 365 people connected to Canada, one of the largest pools on any national list this month, and lists 100.
