Jung Kook, V and Son: South Korea's living list is its standard list

Nobody in the August 2026 top fifteen has died, so the Alive reading measures a country whose worldwide fame is almost entirely current.
The living reading of the South Korea origin list is identical at the top to the standard one, and that is the story. Jung Kook leads at 19.9, V at 19.6, Son Heung-min at 18.5, Jimin at 17.7 and Jennie at 17.2. All 269 South Koreans measured as living carry the same order as the one-scale list, because no dead figure scores high enough to break into the top fifteen.
What the living table shows is a rank order inside BTS. Jung Kook and V are separated by three tenths of a point, Jimin is two points back, Jin at 14.4 and SUGA at 13.7 form a middle tier, and J-Hope at 13.1 is the sixth member to appear. RM does not make the fifteen. Among the women, Jennie at 17.2 and Jisoo at 12.5 sit almost five points apart, and IU, a solo singer and actress with no group behind her, holds ninth at 13.4.
Two presidents and a novelist keep the list from being wholly entertainment. Lee Jae Myung, who took office in 2025, is sixth, Yoon Suk Yeol is fourteenth, and Han Kang is twelfth. The actor Ji Changwook, known abroad for Empress Ki and Healer, and Psy round out the non-idol names.
Seventeen of the 286 South Koreans measured for August 2026 have died, and none of them held enough worldwide attention to displace a living pop star. That is a young country's fame profile: built in the streaming era, exported fast, and still almost entirely in the hands of people who can perform it tonight.
