Bruce Lee breaks the sequence at sixth. The Hong Kong and American martial artist, regarded as the first global Chinese film star, scores 28.6, level with Li Keqiang. Toshirō Mifune, the Japanese actor born in Qingdao, is ninth; the country tag follows birthplace here. Bo Xilai, whose career ended in a life sentence for corruption, is eleventh, and Qin Gang, the former foreign minister, fifteenth. Every Chinese name in the top fifteen is either a party official or a film actor of an earlier era; no living singer, athlete or entrepreneur from the mainland appears in this band.

The visitors are few and political. Donald Trump is eighth, Elon Musk twelfth, Vladimir Putin thirteenth, Cristiano Ronaldo fourteenth. Jesus Christ and Muhammad hold seventh and tenth on worldwide recognition. Seven of the top fifteen are dead, and 79 of the hundred listed names are living.

The engine measured 295 people connected to China and lists 100: 51 Chinese, 20 American, five Taiwanese, across eighteen nationalities. The coverage label on this list is low, which readers should weigh; attention inside a country whose platforms cannot be fully read from outside will be undercounted. What can be seen in August 2026 is a public life organised around the leadership, with the rest of the country's fame still to be measured.
