Kast leads a Chilean top fifteen: fourteen parts Chilean, one part Jesus

The president sworn in this March edges the founder of Christianity by one point, with three heads of state and the Copa América generation of Chilean football behind him.
José Antonio Kast has been president of Chile since March 11, 2026, and five months later he is the most famous person connected to the country, with a score of 79.1. His margin over Jesus Christ, second at 78.1, is one point. Below them the August 2026 list is almost entirely Chilean: fourteen of the top fifteen names carry the country's flag, a share very few national lists approach.
Football supplies the largest bloc. Alexis Sánchez, now at Sevilla, is third at 74.9. Arturo Vidal is fourth at 72.1, level with Michelle Bachelet, the surgeon and epidemiologist who was the first woman to lead Chile. Gabriel Boric, president from 2022 until this year, is sixth. Iván Zamorano, the striker of the 1990s, is ninth, and Eduardo Vargas, Matías Fernández and Gary Medel, three members of the generation that won consecutive Copa América titles in 2015 and 2016, hold tenth, eleventh and fifteenth.
Entertainment and letters take the rest. Pedro Pascal, the Chilean-American actor, is seventh at 65.3. Isabel Allende, the novelist who carried magical realism to a worldwide readership, is eighth. Mon Laferte, the singer-songwriter, is thirteenth. Tennis appears twice, with Alejandro Tabilo twelfth and Marcelo Ríos, the first Latin American to reach world number one in men's singles in 1998, fourteenth.
The engine measured 98 people connected to Chile, a smaller pool than for Argentina or Brazil, and 88 of them are living. Forty-one are Chilean and 31 American across seventeen nationalities, but the Americans start further down. Three presidents, two of them recent, sit in the top six, and the country's fame this month is domestic, political and footballing in roughly equal parts.
